Hi, I was just looking on Fluteworld and I saw that Ian Clark's Hypnosis was given 4- and Borne's Carmen Fantasy was given a 3+. It may just be me, but after playing Hypnosis in 8th grade, and several years later I'm now playing Carmen, I don't see how Hypnosis has a higher grade. I know that it does have some extreme dynamics and quick runs (also in the upper octaves), but it doesn't just have the constant speed and trippy runs of Carmen. And it also doesn't go on for an 11 gutbusting minutes...
Is Hypnosis really more difficult than Carmen?

Well I never played Hypnosis...but maybe I can take a good guess?
I can assume that Hypnosis probably has alternate fingerings, right? Or something funky and unconventional that Ian Clarke normally uses in his flute compositions. Well in Fluteworld, anything that requires alternate fingering and other wacky things automatically puts that above Level 3, I think. Most of Ian Clarke's pices are about 4 and up, I think. Of course in truth, Clarke's piecs can't top the classics. But the Fantasy is close enough to 4 i guess, considering it's a 3+.
