Hi everyone! New member here. I have been lurking for several months reading the posts about different brands of flutes as I was going to purchasing a new instrument. Well, today I drove 3 hours traveling to the only store I could find that had anything other than Gemeinhardts (not a Muramatsu, Miyazawa, Powell, or Haynes anywhere to be found). I tested several Yamahas and and Azumi 3000. The Yamahas sounded nice, but when I played the Azumi, WOW!!! Even my husband noticed how much better it sounded than the Yamaha 461 and 561. So, I am the proud owner of an Azumi 3000RBE. It certainly puts my old Gemeinhardt M3S to shame. If you have read this far, thanks for reading. I love this site.

Wow, nice and congrats...
I had never tried Azumi before, but I heard lots of good word about it before.

Thanks for the welcome! The Azumi has a very lush sound to it. The bottom register is full and the top notes speak so clearly it almost makes me weep. I have never played a flute with the split E before, but it makes that E so easy to reach that it is amazing and sounds so clear. I never thought that I had a problem hitting that E, but now it is just effortless. I love the headjoint on the Azumi and the key action is light and smooth. I have always played and inline G, but this time I went with the offset G and it is much more comfortable.

Pyrioni-I have watched several of your videos and you are a talented player and I do enjoy hearing you play.

Hi!
Welcome, and congrats on your new flute! Thank you also, for that input on Azumi, because i'm seriously considering them as an upgrade flute!
Hope you enjoy playing on it!

Hi Pyface! I urge you to give the Azumi a try. I absolutely love this flute. To me the sound is incredible and has excellent projection. Yesterday I spent several hours testing 2 Yamahas and the Azumi. I spent 4 hours playing it today and I am even more impressed.
