i've been looking into buying a decent piccolo and flute, but i'm on a budget. i'm looking at one specific piccolo at the brand of Jollysun or Oxford. i can't seem to find anything on them, but if anyone knows anything about them that would be apreciative, but if those brands are no good, can anyone sugguest a cheaper flute or piccolo brand that isnt complete trash

They sound like cheap Chinese knock-offs. Flute World is a wonderful, and I have spent far too much money there.

How long have you played flute? If you're just starting out, I would highly recommend staying away from piccolo for a few years. You need to develop your embouchure on flute first, and piccolo is much harder and more frustrating than flute.

As for my suggestions for specific instruments, I would recommend a used Yamaha 221, Jupiter 511, or a Pearl 505. A good bet for piccolo would be a Yamaha 32. Unfortunately, there is a direct correlation between quality and price, and you're just not going to get a good flute for cheap. Do not DO NOT get a cheap piccolo. There's probably nothing more painful or frustrating than a tiny shrill piece of garbage that simply can't play in tune.

Get a used one and get it re-padded. Every dollar you spend that way is tax deductible.
