Hi all So I've been playing flute for about 5 years now and I figure it's about time for a new flute. My price range is from $1,000-2,000. I've been looking at a couple of brands, like Pearl and Yamaha but I'd like to know your recommendations before buying. Thanks!

I personally dont like the yamaha and pearl flutes.. but that is just my opinion, if it makes you sound good, than you will know. I agree with the above post, azumi flutes are quite good if you cant invest in an altus flute!

Try the Pearls with the forza headjoint, you want to try a few as their ability varies. I played a Pearl Dolce that outplayed a Sankyo etude and gave my Miyazawa a run for its money.

However I also played Dolces that were crazy stilted with no dynamic capability, but the good ones are very good.
