Hmm, it sounds quite dodgy really. No offence I respect the idea, but the keys could stick with the paint and the springs could go funny or summit like that.

There is that new idea with the titanium flute, they can be stained, and there is one over here which is rainbow coloured. However they are quite expensive.

I bought my flute red with gold keys, it was laquered. I would suggest taking the keys off before you paint and putting paper towel inside as to not get it clogged or what not. Or, professional help would be a good idea as well. Just some suggestions

Whoa! Plastic purple and silver flute? My school colors! I want a red lacqured flute so badly!!! Does anyone know of a site where I can view, maybe get purchasing info on titanium flutes, colored plastic flutes, colored lacqured flutes, etc? Please, I am desperate! I can`t believe this! Colored flutes!! Oh, and if anyone has any info on pro flute painting, I would be VERY happy to hear of it. Oh oh oh! Does anyone have a flute with a jeweled mouthpiece and/or crown? Go to Landell flutes to see some really gorgeous flutes!! Can you imagine OWNING one of those things? Ok ok, so I am a student! I can`t afford that! If you have something like that, send a pic link! We`d all love to see it, I`m sure!

As you have seen on "www.Ebay.com" type in perhaps: red flute or green flute or purple flute or whatever color because they seem to be in all colors. It seems that the people take the whole thing apart and just paint the outer tube leaving the inside tude and keys not touched.

This is a perfect time for me to step in! I have that EXACT same red flute with the gold keys from the EXACT man. I must admit, he has good quality in instruments, but I suggest that you get some sort of finishing coat on it before you use it. The laqure wears off sorta easily. But, the flute itself is awesome in quality!

I`m sorry, but think its a silly idea, flutes are gorgeous whatever colour and i feel you chose to do this because of some flautists fad right now. Nothing beats your good old silver plated!
