I am going to buy a flute soon and hope you all can give some advice.
The gemeinhardt I am playing now is terrible and it is hindering my progress.

I intend to get a B-foot joing, inline, heavy-wall miyazawa.

Yamahas are responsive but they are not so good as they often have creaky mechanisms like the gemeinhardts.

After testing, I find that the sankyos do not always compromise quality with price. I find that miyazawas are better. Their alto flutes are also very responsive, resonant and are simply great!

NO! Get a Buffet-Corona(or something like that)! Mine has never had a problem and I`ve had it for a year

You sound pretty competant. I think your decision, whatever it is, will be fine.
