Hi everyone, happy holidays and whatnot. Okay so I have my first student! Excited, its a fellow student at my school, and he got his flute for christmas. Its a Mendini 30bng by cecilio. Its black nickle plated with gold keys, open hole and b foot. I don't know a thing about this brand and I haven't play tested it myself so I don't know what to expect. Does anybody know anything about these flutes?

Google is your friend. Try it! I just did.

Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-BLACK-17-KEY-OPEN-HOLE-C-FLUTE-Italian-Pads-B-Foot-/380350101775?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588ea1f90f

If a listing on the Internet identifies a silver flute primarily by its number of keys (16 keys or 17 keys or whatever), you can safely bet that it is a cheap Chinese instrument. In other words: a likely piece of crap that is either out of adjustment when built or quickly out of adjustment after being played.
