Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding a new flute, specifically Muramatsu. I'm a flute performance major getting ready to go off to DePaul in Chicago, and I've had my eye on a Muramatsu DS. I've trialled it and I'm in love. It's got the sound and feel I want. Should I be concerned that it's A=442?
Generally, I've always been a "sharp" player (meaning on the Powell Sonare I've been playing for 4 years I would pull the head joint out relatively far before playing and adjust with my embouchure from there). With the Muramatsu DS, if I needed to tune to A=440 I would have to pull out the head joint even further than before.
I've read that many orchestras/ensembles in Chicago have changed to the A=442 system, but I wanted to get some fellow flautists opinions, thanks!
