OMG!! Finally somebody agrees!! I hate that joke! Everybody I know says that to me on a regular basis... well.. used to anyways. It gets really frustrating when that`s all anybody can talk about! I mean, yes it was funny on the movie at first.. but anybody that knows a serious flautist knows that we take our instrument seriously when it comes to caring for it. (note that I said serious flautists, not people that start to play flute, decide it`s too hard, or sit at the bottom of the band because it`s too much trouble to practice) I mean come on, get real. In any case the joke needs to stop. I know some students in the younger grades that have decided to quit playing due to that idiotic joke. I have to deal with it not only in Band but also in Choir as well. I understand that it was funny when it was said on the movie but that was mainly because it was a surprise quirk that caught everybody off gaurd. I don`t know about the school here in Nebraska that I`ll be attending because I just moved from Texas, but after a while nobody would say the joke around me cuz I wouldn`t just threaten with bodily harm, I followed through. I don`t mind the joke when it`s intended as a joke. Me and my friends laugh about it all the time. We were even going to put it on our pep band shirts, but our director wouldn`t allow it. I only hate it when people say it to be mean. I`m guessing you`re a saxaphone player. I`m learning tenor sax

this one time, at band camp, a ton of bandies got sad that they were in band and ugly and didnt know how to ungrease their hair or wash their faces. in fact, they were so ugly, the only people who would talk to them were each other. and they bonded over how unfair the rest of the world was to reject them for being ugly. they justified their ugliness with, "well my mother says im special. i am too smart to be with normal people, they are intimidated with my brain capacity. some people cant handle an intelligent conversation" and so they all bonded on their hate of "jocks" and also by default because they got embarrassed of eating alone at lunch. and then, this one time, at band camp, they tried to be cool and so like, they, like, like, got with each other so they could see what it was like to get kissed. and they got so horney they shoved 29851646 flutes up their pussies. and the boys got the trombones stuck on their penises. because even though they got with each other for making out, they were too repulsed by each other to continue through with sex. so they masturbated with fantasies of jocks instead. the end. youre all losers.

it is amazing the number of people who say that joke 2 me. it doesn`t really bother me though, well also because i hadn`t actually seen the movie and only knew the general gist.
well, i was doing my speech 4 music cap. at my school and i said that it was amazing the no. of people who said that and i hoped 2 try and stop the stereotype.
everyone found it funny, but took it in the wrong way, i don`t know about the teachers...

Well I have been playing flute for about 5 years. Once that movie came out i have been getting it all the time. I am in the High School marching/concert band and we flute players get it all the time. For halloween my freshman year i had a drummer say"you should go out tonight wear the band uniform carry your flute and wear a sign around your neck that says i love band camp" I hate it. I wish that it would stop. I dont get why we flute players get this why dont drumers get it. Well i am with all of you its terribl. well thas all.
