I am going to buy a piccolo. Full-metal ,full plastic or half plastic half metal better? I am going for marching band consists of 60+ instruments including percussion. I need my sound to be loudly heard by others. Is that half metal half plastic loud enough? I dun think i will go for metal since it always out of tone.

Metal is always out of tune, It really depends on the person and the instrument. I have a silver plated picc and its almost always in tune.
If you are weary of a metal picc I would go for full plastic or half and half.

the geminhardts have a larger lip plate, so they are easier to play at first. It`s almost the same size as a flute lip plate. Emerson`s have small lip plates and are difficult to play (at first). I marched Emerson because our section leader wanted all silver and that`s the only brand they had all silver.
