Well, piccolo...it`s an instrument used in "high mood" parts...as in...if there is a really emotional part in a song, and you need to boost it up...the pic is there to help. It doesn`t always fit...but, ask him about it if it really matters...

sometimes it depends....
maybe the more suttle orchestral music cant have a picolo part in it...
but dont feel bad!!
the picolo is a very unique instrument and not many ppl can play it-!

I have to agree with the person who said that the piccolo doesn`t fit in everywhere. Do you play both flute and piccolo? If you do, maybe the director will let you try the solo on the flute.
