I`m a fairly advanced player in highschool and I really want private lessons, but my parents can`t afford them. Also, I`m sixty dollars in debt after buying a used trumpet so I can`t exactly go buy a bunch of new books. Does anyone have any advice for what I can be practicing until I can at least buy some books? I need exercises and the like. Thank you for your help!

maybe you should search the net about flute tips.Learn about new things from the internet like whisper tones, ect. When you do get money maybe you could go to Robert Dick`s website and buy some helpfull books.

If you aren`t up to spending money, then try going to the library. Some libraries have a lot of music books, but some just have a small number. Sometimes, they have sheet music, method books, and also just refrence books to help you. Also, try making some money...get a summer job. There are usually a lot out there for teens. then you can earn the money and you can decide whether you want to buy new books, or you just want private lessons then sure go ahead. I hope I helped.

also, if you want to make money, then ask your parents if you can start teaching the flute to younger kids.

I`ve actually asked my parents if I could try that, but they don`t think I`m capable. Although I have[/] asked about working at a music store to pay for flute lessons. Hopefully they`ll let me!
