My flute sounds really airy on notes from C# within the staff and up. I really need advice on how to fix this problem. I`m thinking it`s a combination of the flute and my embouchure. I tried fixing my embouchure and either tightening up or loosening and changing the position of the mouthpiece, but the most I can mute it is to a low buzz of air. Can anyone help me? please. THanks in advance

Also, I have a question about the prospect of buying a piccolo. I`m thinking about getting a Yamaha YPC-32, but the Plastic/Silver combin. Gemeinhardts seem more budget-friendly. ARe these piccs good for their prices, and if any other piccolo brands are suggested, include price range for a plastic/silver or all plastic piccolo and other opinions. Thanks again

My flute teacher played in many symphonies and she says that Gemeinhardts is a very good brand to buy. I have a gemeinhardt and it plays really good. Better then a yamaha!

I have a Yamaha wooden with silver mechanics.... I do recommend it... Unless you`re really thinking about going professional (then I would recommend Powell which is a bit more expensive). I think the Yamaha I have is named 62. Nice name... ;p
