I have been asked to play at a lady`s 40th birthday party (background music), but I have no idea how much to charge per hour. Does anyone know what a decent rate for a job like that is?

I did that once  I didn`t really charge anything... the person I played for was just like, here, have some money, lol. I got about $50 (maybe more, I don`t remember), since I`m only a high schooler. Professionals can play for about $100-200 a night, I think. So maybe you could base yourself on that... I dunno.
