Just as a note, my band recieved straight superiors at FBA as well. w00t!
Matt, just because you have a small band doesn`t mean you can`t do well. If your enire band really works hard and puts in the effort, you could probably do really well. Don`t fall into "smallbanditis." I know a small band that constantly gets first, second, or third place wherever they go. It can be done!

I would just like to mention that MPHS the high school that I go to is a 4A or AAAA band. Last year we totally placed in EVERYTHING!! Our field show last year was POTC OH we are more of marchers then field showers, but our field show last year was POTC and this year it is EL Tigre. Our school is renown for the drumline.

yeah, cirque du soleil....for those of you doing it, it is EXCELLENT!!! our band did la nouba back in 2001, and we took first at every competition, sweeping EVERY caption award at every competition, went on to win state ...um...this past year, 2 bands did la nouba....and both of them won state in their class, they were bands in class AA and A....both swept all the caption awards, with the highest scores recorded in their classes...same when we did la nouba....and this next year, we`re doing cirque du soleil: Quidam....which in my mind, is 10x more powerful than la nouba, but all the same it`s a great show. Quidam just has that huge amount of power and energy to drive it to the very heartwrenching finale, i highly suggest any cirque du soleil music for a fieldshow..

i`m from Merrill, WI

WISH US LUCK NEXT YEAR....we`re going to need it, our band program was cut 2 years ago, making our band size drop like 100 members, and all the good ppl quit, so it`s all been rebuilding now....but let`s hope we can fix that this year, and whip it into gear....good luck whitnall and river falls

oh yeah, i`ll give a list of past shows we`ve done:

1997-The Magic Mirror (music from Snow White)
1998-Magical Mystery Tour (Beatles)
1999-Mask of Zorro *excellent music (music from the motion picture)
2000-Sailor and the Sea(dont quote me on the name)...(music was from: Sea Chanty)
2001-Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba
2002-In Ancient Times (To the Summit, and 2 commissioned pieces)
2003-band program was cut...competitive street marching to "jericho"
2004-Beatles ala` Jazz
2005-The Life of a Gangster
...and..then there`s next year
2006-Cirque du Soleil: Quidam

I RECOMMEND EVERY ONE OF THE THEMES ABOVE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 2003-2005....
