I am in the marching band at my high school, and im the piccolo section leader. So tuning them is my problem...they`re young pic players but all are good flute players. So how can i tune them or teach them to tune?

hi, i`m joyce and i`m from the netherlands. here we use digital chromatic tuners. so you can hear and see if they are in tune.

i`m not pic section leader.. however i do play pic this year.. we had 9 and playing in tune was a big problem in the beging.. but it did get better.. they tell use all we can really do is listen.. sorry this isn`t much help.. but if you find anything out please let me know!

there are 7 total...and 5 of them on playing a pic for the first season. but we`re a VERY strong section. I will start bringing a digital tuner to the feild, thanks. and what about ear plugs? Someone once said that the drummers are always complaining that the pics are out of tune because they have ear plugs, and that blocks out the overtones...maybe we should try a few sectional practices with ear plugs.
