Does any one know how I find information about my current flute on the internet using it`s brand name ans serial number?

Hey... if you are thinking about a gemeinheardt I wouldnt suggest any of them unless you are a begginer... try a pearl, or emerson they are about the same price and a better flute...

This is my eigth year on flute. I like my Gemeinhardt but I want to know when it was made and the such...

How can I find info on my Gemeinhardt flute using it`s serial number?

I have a Gemeinhardt student flute right now; what`s wrong with the proffesional- is it not as good?

what`s the model number? tat can tell you quite a bit.

piccolojay, I like my gemeinhardt just fine it`s not a pro model but close (53SB with powell headjoint). people can go on and on about how "this flute is better than that flute" but it all comes down to the player, if you`re playing professionally the audience will never know the difference and they certainly can`t tell whether you`re playing on a student model bundy or a murmatsu.

I too would like to access info about my gemeinhardt through serial number tracking. I believe it was manufactured before 1975. Maybe someone could actually assist us with our inquirie, rather than debate which flute is the best

My daughter is in 6th grade and has been playing the flute for 2 years. My boss wants to sell me a Gemeinhardt flute Model 3S. She said she bought it in 1975. She wants $700 for it. I am not sure if this is a good deal or not. I have tried to check ebay. Is there a better way to check? Thanks for your help. Judi

I play the flute as well as having a daughter that is in her 3rd year of playing the flute. I don`t know that I would pay that much for the flute that your boss has especially considering the age.

I would check with Fluteworld.com and Woodwind & Brasswind and see what they charge for that flute new. You could also check UsedFlutes.com and see what that flute would go for used.

I just purchased a new Yamaha for my daughter a couple of weeks ago so I wanted to find out what the store would give me for her Gemienhardt that is just 1 year old. It is in like new condition, solid silver head with gold engraved lip plate, open hole and b foot. I paid $900.00 for it just 1 year ago and the store told me that as a trade in they would give me $250.00 and if I wanted to put it on consignment with them I would likely get about $300.00 for it.

That is an expression of the true value of Gemeinhardt flutes in general.

Because they are made in America there is nationalistic fervour attached to the name, but in my country, away from that local enthusiasm, they barely get a look in compared with Yamaha (a superb player by comparison), or even (I use that word because they are highly variable) Pearl.

The best I can say about Gemeinhardt is that they are reasonably robust, hence a possible choice for school use. but how a flute PLAYS is a very important consideration.
