Thank you so much for your replies and comments. My daughter does need a new flute -- she is 12 years old -- you have provided me with valuable information. I now feel more comfortable (and confident) in telling my boss that I want to look further.

Long time not talk. How are you? I would have to agree with you on that about Gemeinhardt flutes. I would have to say after owning both a Gemeinhardt and Yamaha that the Yamaha is MUCH better made and does not come out of adjustment like the Gemeinhardts do. When I went to trade in my Gemeinhardt years ago I didn`t get much for it either.
