try turning your flute a different way, making the ombeshure (spelling is incorrect, I know) poised differently on your lips

I`ve been told to pucker and keep a steady airstream blowing downward. if your tounging on the roof of your mouth, try tounging on the back of your teeth...that helps sometimes

for high notes, breath support is reeeeeaaally important! you will get a clearer sound if you make sure to push the air from your diaphragm. yeah, it takes quite a bit of practise, but when u get it, it sounds fabbity fab fab! a good way 2 start practising using your diaphragm more is to push your stomach out when your practising high notes. OK, it looks kinda funny, but it sticks the idea of pushing from your diaphragm into your head. hmmmmmm, i really feel like teaching flute now. lol

practice 1-3 hrs a day and tighten, i do long tones on highest notes high D-highest note on flute for 1/2 hr. This method is flawless, trust me, it has improved my tone from a mark of 82 to 96.
good luck

practice harmonics - if you do not know what they are, then buy the Trevor Wye `Tone` book. This will greatly improve not only your upper register, but also your ability to move between lower and higher registers with ease.
