For those of you that play on a flute with a C# trill, do you find it to be much of a weight difference compared to a flute that does not have one?

For many years I have been playing on a flute that does not have one and I am seriously thinking about getting that option on the new flute that I will be purchasing here shortly. I could sure use it in a lot of my current repertoire.

I have carpal tunnel and I am just worried that after some time it might become a problem.

The C# trill is a very good add on feature. If you do decide to get it, then it is well worth every penny.

As far as the weight goes, it is so small of a difference that it would be really hard to tell.

I used it a lot when playing the Grand Canyon piece. The other two flutist in the symphony that I play in also have it, and really love it.

I have a Powell flute with the C# trill on trial right now and it really didn`t feel much different to me. Thanks to everyone who did reply.

It is a brand new one. I tried one from 76 and some other oldies, but they all needed fixing and were difficult to play. I just asume get a new one so I can have just the way I want it.

What is wrong with it that it is discounted $8000?? I would be very weary with it if I were you. I haven`t heard of the brand eihter.
Hmmm...

Every so often a very skilled silversmith or jeweller who has an interest in flutes, makes a gold or silver flute. Although they may represent immaculate skills in manufacture from precious metals, they may well have such poor ACOUSTIC design that they play no better than a mediocre student flute. Just another example of how design is far more important than the metal used.

Such as flute has little more realistic value than the metal it is made from, or/plus the value of a student flute.

Judging by the heavy `discount`, and the fact that there is so little reference to this maker in Google, I suggest that this maker may be one of these craftsman flute-maker-wannabes.

i know, i`ve looked into it (on google and such) and it`s discounted because i work at the place that is selling it and some idiot woman, who sold it to the shop, had it in her attic for about 5 - 7 years and didn`t know it was a good flute (i`ve played it, and i realy like it, and my teacher looked over it...the flute professor at the UNC college was the original owner of it) anyways, the woman didn`t know anything about it so the shop bought it for really cheap. i`m still kind of skeptic about it but i`ll see how i like playing it and stuff...
