hmmm... firstly i don`t really know much about the flute, since i`ve only been playing for a couple of days. i can manage a rather full tone cause i used to play the tuba some time ago and so i thoroughly grasp the concept of overblowing and going for a full sound. I`ve managed a rather satisfying sound (for now at least) however, i`ve noticed that notes sound a bit sharp.
For example, i`ll use the text book i have and get a fingering for 3rd line B (which is like T1, 1 and RC), but when i sound the note it sounds like inbetween B and C, or sometimes even C. Thing is, using the fingerings from the same book, the lowest notes, C under the stave up until around 2nd line G, sound correct. I managed to lower the problematic notes by blowing with less strength but then the note sounds feeble and doesn`t `feel` right.
Would this be some sort of calibration issue or do i just need more practice with blowing? From what i know the flute isn`t transcribed from a Bb or anything, right?
I`m planning on taking a few lessons, so as to ensure i`m on the right track even though the instrument doesn`t seem that hard so far.
thanks for your time
