I am not sure what an 8va is. I never had music that had it marked. Is it where you play one octave higher than what is written on the music?

I`m not in the need of this, but on one song I am doing, I am doing the piano part but there is a vocal part to it and it says 8vb instead of 8va, does this "8vb" mean one octave lower? Or perhaps a term in the vocal music?

It`s fun to play an octave higher when practicing in band or sometimes doing it on exercises! I play the piccolo too so when I play 8va higher on flute people just think I`m using my piccolo
