I obviously played in Jr. High and High School, I was also 3rd chair in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at college (their top band) and 1st chair bass clarinet in their 2nd band. I now play in two non-auditioning community bands and one auditioning community band.

7. What do you love most about playing the clarinet? I love the way I feel when I am playing. I can totally lose myself in the music. I love the deep, rich tones and the way my clarinet feels natural in my hands.

7. What do you love most about playing the clarinet? It`s a challenge for me, and it`s also a novelty because it isn`t my main instrument and one I don`t play all that often. I just love the sound of clarinet, too. To think my sixth grade band director didn`t think I`d be good at clarinet....

For some reason, the other reed players only wanted to play saxophone. I didn`t meet another clarinet player until my junior year and a bass clarinet player (besides myself) until my senior year.

7. What do you love most about playing the clarinet?
I always liked its rich tone, especially when hearing a classical piece.

7. What do you love most about playing the clarinet? I like that it gets me involved. I make lots of friends because of playing the clarinet. I like the feeling of knowing that I am good at something-everyone likes to feel that! I also like fast technical passages that other instruments can`t really play such as the tuba. I also like the range of the clarinet-it`s almost exactly my vocal range, so anything I can play on the clarinet, I can sing! (except anything above 4th octave G!) I have rambled a lot! hehe!

Alto clarinet--I love the tone...according to the judges, I have a very rich, colorful tone that`s gorgeous to listen to...I love how the alto provides a challenge for me.
