The Flutes are pretty nice except when your competing with them.

I think this pretty much says it for the flutes
of course there are quite a few other general charecteristics but thats the fairest and most general i have experienced
(as a flautist)

haha i love this!

Well I’m in 2 bands at my school.. im in our symphonic band(yuck) and our wind ensemble..

Generally speaking..

Flutes: don’t really seem to practice accept 1 or 2...they all seem to be nice to everyone’s faces. But are snotty to each other

Clarinets: the 1st clarinets seem to be a little egotistical because they think, "oh, we're so great”. The rest of the section kind of seems spaced out allot (this mostly applies to our symphonic band) (I played clarinet in this band for 1 year and switched to alto sax)

All Saxes: seem to be very laid back. Semi talkative but overall the most skilled section, as in they get their parts learned very quickly.

Tubas: very close..thats it

Trumpets: wide range of personality. From jock to rocker and geekish.

Euphoniums: are very cocky and annoying!

Bass clarinets: oddballs..

Horns: Well. This is my senior year in high school and the 3 years I’ve been here all of the horns have some things in common. They’re all girls (I’ll be the first male horn at our school that I know of..i’m learning)...they're all hot..and they're all really good at what they do.

Oboes: it seems all oboes are very, very dedicated to their instrument and are very good (both of our oboes made it to nor-cal honor band and 1 made it to second chair all state California)

Trombones: see bass clarinets

Bassoons: see trombones

Percussion: our percussion section tends to be on the annoying side at times, they seem to be self centered since they can breath any time they want..haha..a joke..

(in case anyone is confused, I play the clarinet, alto sax and the horn)

Just to make sure everyone knows... I’m only talking about my band..no one elses..please don’t take offence.

MARCHING BAND
Flutes: Always laughing and yelling at each other. Able to become friends with anyone. Some of the nicest people you ever will meet.

Clarinets: We don't play very loud. We're laid back and sorta apathetic. You can always count on us to be doing something other than what we're supposed to do. We talk when we should be quiet. But at least we do care about band.

Saxes: The people with all the problems.

Trumpets: Egotistical, PLay way too loud.

Trombones: The best, musically out of all of us. And they always stick together.

Tubas: Well, they play tuba.

Percussion: You'll always see them together maybe with one or two people from other sections. They never get the timing just right and they're always playing something different from each other.

CONCERT BAND
Flutes: Attack the band director with really high, sharp, loud notes. Need to learn to play beautifully.

Clarinets: Don't play loud. The few first clarinets can attack the band director (As mentioned with flutes) but the 2nd and 3rds play almost as quiet as a church mouse.

Saxes: They will just blare out on any and every wrong note that comes out of their instrument.

Trumpets: Same for marching band

Trombones: Same for marching band

Bassoon: Very good at playing their instrument, take band VERY seriously, and love what they do with all their heart, so what if you can't hear them? They have a great time playing anyway.

Tuba: They play, then they leave. At least they get their music perfect.

Percussion: Same for marching band.

I mean no offense to anyone w/ this post.

forgot one

French Horns: VERY FEW of them, but they manage to play way too loud, but each and every single one of them are really good.

In my school band the clarinets argue all the time, not like fighting, but we can never agree.

And bassoonists are the interesting type, who can concentrate when they have to - they love their music, afterall - but can be fun when time permits.
