Does anyone know about wurlitzer clarinets? Are they any good? My daughter`s band director (beginning band) said she had never heard of that brand. I thought that Wurlitzer was an established music company.

I have already tried google. However, since I am not an instrumentalist, I am not finding the answer that I am seeking. What I was hoping to find was someone who is a clarinetist who could tell me their opinion of the WurliTzer clarinets.

Wurlitzer specializes in german system clarinets. However, about 90% of the world plays on french system clarinets (including your daughter). Wurlitzer also makes a version of the french system clarinet, but they are very expensive- around $5000.

I am a sax player, but to the best of my knowledge, the wurlitzer your talkng about (now it may be a new company or something, regarding the above post, i`m just saying what i know) that I know about was a stencil horn company back n the 40`s. I say this because I own a wurlitzer soprano from the 40`s and it is a stencil horn. Not a bad horn though. One thing does come to mind, and that may be the spelling. Unfortuantly, I do not have my soprano on hand at the moment, but it may be spelled differently. Is the clarinet old or new?
