Choosing the right mouthpiece for a given horn

I`m a comebacker after 25 years off. My old setup which my wife had overhauled (to get me out of "retirement") is a Noblet 45 with a Vandoren 2RV. My high school`s Evette (that I got to play when I got to 2nd chair) sounded better and was easier over the break. So I recently got 2 nice vintage Buffets on eBay and had them overhauled - an E12 and an E13 Master. I don`t play a whole lot (easy church orchestra music mainly)

Anyone have recommendations on mouthpieces for these horns given my level and frequency of play?

Of course I have to keep the Noblet since my wife invested $$ (too much) in its overhaul. My total investment in each of the Buffets is not much more than what she paid for the local overhaul and you should see the keys shine on the Buffets! The local shop (H&H) didn`t even touch the keys with their expensive service other than to remove to repad.

Come to think of it I believe it`s an old 5RV not 2RV

Hmm... I play a vandoren M15 but you might not like that. Do you play on vandoren reeds? In their packages there is a folder (?) where you can see something about what reeds matches what mouthpiece. I recently got my M15 mouthpiece and tried a lot of different mouthpieces and it`s just as different as picking out a clarinet
It`s all about what you are used to. I have had a 5RV mouthpiece in 8 years but the M15 suited me better

Maybe you should just go to your local music shop to try out some. They can probably guide you to which one you should try.

heaps of different clarinets, and mouthpieces and reeds.. Therefore heaps of different matches, ie a M13 might go with one clarinet but a B45 or any other make might not go with the same clari.. look up this in deatil - plenty of books in a library
