Hey,

I have been playing the clarinet for almost 4 years now and my mum has finally decided to buy me a new clarinet. I am on size 2.5 reeds and i am pretty serious about playing my clarinet. I have had many people tell me that a good brand to get would be a buffet b10/b12 or a le blonc. I was wondering what the best type of clarinet to get would be. I play in a classical band. My budget is about $2000 dollars.

Also I have been told that one of the best mouthpieces is a vandoren b45. is this so?

Thanx Clarigurl

buffets are awesome but their plastic models are pretty much ordinary, you`ll probably do better with a wood...i know someone here is gonna tell you to get an R13, it usually sells for around $2000, maybe a little less...now don`t get me wrong, buffet is a great brand, but don`t fall into that trend, theres a lot of clarinets out there that might be better for you. As far as mouthpieces go, the B45 is excellent, but it may not be what you`re looking for, it`s more of a jazz mouthpiece. someone told me the ??M13?? is pretty good for classical stuff, idk though...in my opinion the mouthpiece is the most important part of the clarinet so make sure its good

Why don`t you go to a music store yourself and try it out? People can tell you tons of things but that might not be the one you prefer. They can probably guide you better in a music store.
