Hi there everyone

Can anyone explain air support to me? I have realised people have different thoughts on this but I would appreciate if you gave me your conception.

Thanks in advance

We were always told that when we play we should sit straight to help with the breath support. We were also told to control the air from the diaphram (sp). Like if you were going to give a command on a football field and you want to make it sound deep and loud but you do not want to hurt your voice. It really has to come from down there. I understood it alot better after I got drum major at the end of last year and went seeking help on how to give field commands.

noe thing you want to be sure you do is breathe correctly. your chest should be as high as it can be, and when you inhale it should rise no further. think if your lungs expanding out and down, fill up from the bottom. and when you play, dont just leak the air out. use you diaphram, to squeeeze out the air, but dont let your chest go down, remember, its already as high as it can go. it should feel as if someone is pushing you in the gut when you are almost out of air.
