what should i do my driends and evreyone else think call me a band geek and my friend say it takes up to much of my time and want me to drop out i dont want to but there my friends?help

well heres a tip when you and your friends are together dont talk about band. act like yourself (no band jokes). if they ask you somthing about band just tell somthing with little descripition not to much. just try not spending your time in band while being with your friends or over running your schedule with band. thats what i do and my friends never mention a thing about me being in band. just think your not in band. another thing i do is, say lies! say you hate band, you hatew the clarinet, you hate you band director. even tho its not true this helps me a lot and i hope it will help you.

I think lying is the last thing you should do. Just tell them you enjoy band and you like it(if it's true). Also tell them it looks good on college applications. Or just tell them to be quiet.

yeah but then they will continue on complaining and they will always tell you to quit band. and that is the last thing i will do.

stick up for yourself, or find better friends. aren't friends supposed to be understanding?? they might be jealous that youre talented and part of a solid group. that's just my 2 cents, good luck to you,

My friends think IM !*****! because I'm in band. I just tell them they're jealous because they are too stupid to play an instrument. Seems to work OK for me.

get some friends who are in band and who love band as much as you. they'll never complain about you.

Friends respect and support their friend's decisions. If they can't show you respect or support for something you do you hold highly, then they're not true friends.

Anyway, you play in a band because you enjoy creating and performing music. Why should you give it away, because you can't get your friends' approval?

More to the point, would you let peer pressure (and the seeking of your friends aproval) prevent you from pursuing the career you desire, even though you would be ridiculed?

If you get some friends in band they won't bother you about it. My friends call me a band geek but only jokingly they all know that I'd give pretty much anything for band and my clarinet. If you like band, than you shouldn't be ashamed of it or have to lie about it. In 6 years it wont matter that you were in band it will matter that you learned and instrument and those look better on resumes and applications than, skateboarding and hockey.

just tell them u like bein a bando and dont care wut they or anyone thinks about that. it worked 4 me cuz they understood + i made some bando frends 2 and theyre actually not nerdy!!!!!! just cuz ur good at sumthing duzznt mean youre a freak or nerd- even if its band!!!!!!!!!!!!!
