Well. I've been using my clarinet for years now and it's had acceptable, definitely not perfect, intonation. The scale has been rather even. About a week ago, I noticed that every note I play from G above the staff up is extremely flat (or at least, noticably flatter than the rest of the notes). When 2nd line G is in tune, as well as 3rd Space C, those notes are 20-30 cents flat. The worst offenders are A and B above the staff.
What could be wrong with my clarinet? It could be the pads because this is the clarinet I use for marching band and we had gotten rained out at one point. What specific pad should I check for, or is it a problem with another component?
Help is appreciated. Thanks

umm, well to be honest i dont know how qualified any of us are to evaluate your situation. if i were in your situation i would take my clarinet to a shop and at least have them tell you what they think. Also, i would look into buying a cheap clarinet for marching band so things like this wont happen.

it might be worth looking at the pads, but the higher notes always waver a lot more, also, if your using a different reed, it changes the quality in different registers- a stronger reed will keep the tone more consistant into the higher registers.
