I recently sold a Ridenour 147 and the buyer is saying it looks like it was sanded because it has a dull finish vs. the shiny mouthpiece. I was told that this is a factory finish made to look like wood. Please help me with some information.
thanks,
Lisa

They all look like that. It looks bad to my eyes, but it's how Mr. Ridenour has them made. I've met him twice, and he's very smart. I would never choose to play on his horns though. I don't like them personally. They look/feel/play bad in my hands. But...
Perhaps your buyer was not familiar with Ridenour basses and their quality.
