umm well.. i just use one reed over and over but i know i prob. shouldn`t. break in about 2 or three more reeds as back up just in case the one that usually works for you acts up.
hope that helps

as long as the reed is ok, you dont need to change it, just make sure you have some spairs, and before you play, take it out and moisten it.

You could try have three or four reeds broken in an rotate them - a couple of days on each. But you should do what is best for you.

I usually have about 3 in rotation for practices and personal practice and such, and one that I use for performances only. Once the performance one is used once in a concert it is "demoted" down to a practice reed. Always have a good reed that you are comfortable with ready for performances. Practice on it until you are confident with the sound, and then don`t use it again until the performance. With the other ones, alternate which ones you practice with.
Hope that helps!
