I have a Leblanc Vito Bb Clarinet. I'm a beginner clarinet player. Ive been learning the notes and their fingerings and such and one day upon tuning the clarinet I found that the open finger, which to my knowledge should be a G, is playing as a F. Is there something I am doing wrong in playing or is this a problem with the instrument itself? I use a 2 1/2 reed, and have found that if I remove the barrel and hold the mouthpiece directly on the rest of the clarinet that it plays perfectly (although incredibly awkwardly). I also play the tuba.

Any help would be greatly Appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
FlyFlibb

is that 'it sounds like concert F ( what a piano plays) or it sounds like another clarinet playing F
the clarinet is a transposing instrument, and all the notes sound to be a different note to what they're called

<Added>

try testing the other notes, if they are out of tone the same, then its fine

You're right. I totally forgot about the concert transposition. I play the tuba so my notes usually coincide with the Concert notes, and thats why I didn't realize that my tuner wasn't showing the same note that I was playing. That takes a major weight off my shoulders. Thank you so much for your help.
