Tips on how to play...hmmm...I could help you. But if I did help you then I would write so much that you would no longer be alive before reading it all! If you could tell me exactly what to help you with, then I could totally help you out. I assume you are playing a Bb?? Also, if you could tell me what model you play on, I could help you better that way. All clarinets are made differently, and I know a lot about certian models. Please reply, and I`ll help! Amber K.

Hey its awesome that you are learning how to play the clarinet! I have been playing for 5 years.......Sorry I can`t give you any tips ...I don`t know what you`re looking for. I have been in IMEA for the past 3 years. It means Illinois Music and Ens. But i don`t know what the A stands for. We meet once a year and form like 5-6 bands into an Orch. It is really cool. NEVER give up if you are struggling! Go over and over the music until you can play it perfect. I have a Bb yamaha clarinet also. I have learned to love the clarinet music, esp. Jazz. Hope ya find what you are looking for! (remember to keep an o for your mouth position.it really helps if you blow hard to)

I`ve been playing the clarinet for eight years now, and I have only one piece of advice for you: enjoy playing! Play those things you like to play, because without motivation you don`t get anywhere...
Succes!

Lynnsey,
I don`t think you should give up on your lessons and just settle for a grade 5. You should continue with your lessons. It would probably be best if you went out and got yourself a tutor to contoinue your lessons for when you get into high school. The tutor will help you out a lot.
