I was just wanted to see how long everyone
here has been playing and
what chairs/rankings people have in their
school bands. I guess I'll start-

I've been playing clarinet for 6 years and
I am 16 and a junior in high school
Symphonic band- 1st chair section leader
Wind Ensemble- 3rd chair
marching band- first chair section leader

You may also want to specify which band is highest that you are in
in because each school is different according to the way they
rank there bands. at my high school, wind ensemble is the top band
that you have to audition for. The symphonic band is for anyone
that plays an instrument.

I played soprano clarinet for two years, then switched to bass and am starting my fifth year on that. I'm first chair bass clarinet in symphonic band, our top band (none of this silly "wind ensemble" business! ) I march on mellophone, and we have no form of chairs or anything for marching.

Been playing clarinet for 2 months, teaching myself....I played piano for 4 years and self taught another 2 years....I'm just learning clarinet to play jazz (I love Jazz). Dont play marching band but got recruited to join this small 'orchestra' at my church which consists of Bass, Cello, 3 flutes, alto sax, trumpet, two violins, picolo and one other clarinet and soprano sax....hope to start practicing with them this fall....

I've been playing since 6th grade, I'm going to start my first year of high school on the 27 of August.

Middle school Honor Band, 1st chair
Middle School District Band, 1st Chair
Middle School Region Band, 1st chair
I'm in the Wind Ensemble at my High School,
Austin Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, 2nd Chair
And thankfully we don't have chairs in marching! I worried about marching though, for some reason I have a feeling I'm going to fall during our show, and look like an idiot!

Been playing clairnet for 8 years and flute for 5, in my band at university we dont really have chairs, we change up the music and drive my conductor nuts because he nevers knows where the 1sts are.
When I was in a youth symphony I was second, and currently in a band for a musical and the only clairnet.
