I have been playing clarinet since i was very little but switched to saxophone several years ago since then my clarinet playing has suffered a lot. I have never really taught the correct embouchure except being told to smile. Could anyone give me a more thorough explanation?

I'm also looking to save up for a new clarinet as several of the keys on mine hit each other when pressed mainly because of my carelessness when i was young (I promise I am much more careful these days) and also from the bottom half dropping off because the cork was worn out (excuses, excuses i know) so does anyone have any advice on good makes.

Thanks

its pretty much the same as for the sax, feels a bit different because of the way you hold the sax comapred to the clairnet, so you have your bottom lip over your teeth, which is where the clairnet restes, and then your top teeth on teh top of the clairnet, hope that helps,
and for good makes, do want a new plastic? or wood? and if you like the clairnet you have now, try just getting it fixed lest money

Rather than buy a new clarinet could you see if a decent tech, can fix/adjust it ?

<Added>

Replacement corks shouldn't cost very much.
