Put my clarinet down for about 15 minutes to take a break from practicing. It was just lying on my bed so it couldn't have fallen or anything.

When I tried playing again, warmed up going up and down the registers. When I got to the Bb and B natural right below the staff, all the notes below went into the upper register! ( i.e.A=E, G=D etc.)

And when I go to the upper register, my G and above doesn't play.

What happened? TT_TT I have to play tomorrow... Checked all my pads, they look alright.

Thanks!

Take off the top joint and the bottom joint. Cover ALL holes, plug the bottom with your hand and blow in to the top. If you hear something leaking thats the problem.. You should get it repaired. It's happened to my G# key a few times. Also remember to do the same thing to the bottom.

If you do find the key that leaks and see a screw beside it, try tighting or loosening it. Hope I could help =\

If you can't find it, or its not a leak, bring it to your band director or a repair shop.

G# key does seem to have some air coming out of it. Just tighten the screws around it?
Band director already told me the repair guy wouldn't touch my clarinet cuz it isn't a name brand.... thats stupid

I'm not sure what happened! I didn't tighten anything yet, and it worked perfectly! I'm so confused, but I'm happy lol thanks a lot for the advice!

Ahh, my G# key has done that on both my instruments. The screw it easyly moved with my finger nail so maybe it could have shaken out of place? Also if it was leaking, you would want to lossen the screw not tighten it, because tightening it brings it farther away from the clarinet. Anyway, nice luck and happy playing~

Probably just needed to be warmed up? or the spit may have settled weird and then once you started blowing in it it got better.
