I have been playing the clarinet for over 8 years, sounds to me like you need to up grade your mouth peice. Try and get a more open mouth piece that does not constrict the flow of air. This will give you a warmer sound and also lower yours reed strength...also try switching to Vandorins, the may cost you in the long run but they have a much better sound than Rico`s or any some other reeds

Ive been playing clarinet for about 4 years and ive always played a vandoren 2 1/2 reed w/ a B45 mouthpiece. i strongly recomend u buy the B45 mouthpiece and try a vandoren reed. but a lower number reed. and keep your signet 100. i have one and i plays great. maybe it has a air leak or something . get it check dude.
