Hello, I received a clarinet, but the mouth piece did not come with the clarinet, and it wobbles slightly. Is there an easy way to fix this? Can it be fixed with cork?

Thanks

Panda

hmmm, well panda you could alwas just wait to see what happens because some times tomuch cork grees makes the peices wabble. if that dosent work take it to the music stor u bought it from and they will fix it for a small fee or if u have a good reson they do for free not that much mony tho, might be for a difrent sized clarinet. or just buy a new one.

Replacing the cork on a mouthpiece (Also the tenons) is a standard operation & only takes about 15 minutes.

as a temporary fix you can put tape around the cork. Just make sure it is even from top to bottom otherwise it could still wobble.

BUT, get a new cork installed, as mentioned it's fast and normally around $9-$15 USD

Its a school instrument, so I just decided top put some Teflon tape around it, and its solved the problem! (I'm so glad I have an oboe playing brother xD)

i get that with the barrel of my clarinet (getting a new one tommorrow though) so i have to get that fixed as on mine its because the cork is nearly dead(only just keeps the barrel on)
its the cork on the top of he top joint before anyone says there is no cork on the barrel.
but i am in the uk and my local music shop has to send there repairs to someone else who will take one look at the pads and tell me they all need replacing.
