it depends, is it leaving bad marks on your mouth piece?
Is there any chance that you will be selling your mouthpeice/clarinet anytime soon?
and does the calrinet belong to you?

if your not bothered by the marks and it is one that belngs to you which you don't think your'll be getting rid of anytime soon. then i wouldn't worry. also if you are not biting hard then it won't that bad. But if you are worried about the marks try a couple of differant paches for a couple days each then decide which one you like best and use it but it may change your embrouchure (you'd be suprised what can, for any wind instrument) but try them if you are worried about the marks

its not about the mouthpiece and leaving marks on it. Its my clarinet which is a noblet 40 with a fobes debut mouthpiece thats less than two months old.
the really question is if i get a mouthpiece patch will that stop me from biting the mouthpiece which will allow me to play pass f over the staff more easy. Sorry if i didnt clarify the situation clearly.

The patch won't stop you using too much pressure - to do that you will need to conciously avoid biting & using more breathe support at the same time. Your teacher ought to be able to guide you on this.

as mentioned, the mouthpiece patch will not prevent you from biting. It may make it more comfortable in your mouth and prevent your teeth from slipping.

The clarinet embouchure really should not be about you raising your jaw to make contact with the reed/mpc but about pushing out more to make contact. This also essentially requires one to keep the clarinet at a good angle down.

By biting UP you will be restricting the design of the mpc. But if i recall, the Fobes Debut is designed with a short curve which allow the player to do this. but when you get to "regular" mpcs with medium to medium long facings there will be a negative tonal variation.

here's some more information on that

also, as contra mentioned, it is best to have a private teacher guide you in this regards

if you can play with one already you can try it, see what differance it makes and try diferant ones, if it helps then keep playing with it.
