Hey! What all is everyone playing for their marching shows this year? Our school is playing music by Igor Stravinsky. Petrouska, Round Dance of the Princesses from Stravinsky`s Firebird suite, and Rite of Spring. In total, there are 4 movements. (2 from Petrouska.) Anyway, this year is a state year for us 4A schools in Texas...what are you guys doing?

Our school is doing power, peace and promise. All songs by david hilsinger. The drill is amazing, and we just scored a 271 at our first contest of the year and got grand champion, best percussion, best music, best general effect, best marching and 2nd place guard. Yes, we are awsome. Me only bein a freshmen, it was an experience ill never forget

wow that`s awesome keep up the good work! I`m really excited about going to state this year (im a "fish" too...) and it`s so awesome to see how well the show is coming together. Right now, we`ve finished basically the entire show (learning the drill)...now we just gotta clean it up...yay! Really though, it is a LOT of fun...more people reply to this! LOL!

I`m a freshman too and we`re playing easy songs this year. Last year they did a Wizard of Oz show and it was awesome. But this year we have a "classic rock show". We`re playing Come Sail Away, Any Way You Want It, Jesus is Just Alright, and Carry On My Wayward Son and the show and music are all boring.

that`s cool...is it a state year for you guys? if not that`s probably why the show, as you say, is *boring.* Yea, i know that the upperclassmen have said that last year`s show was boring because it wasn`t a state year...anyway...talk to you guys later!

Have any of you ever heard of a clarinet cheer? our trombones and trumpets have cheers, but no one else (unless you count drumline), and my director mentioned it to me a while ago. I`m wondering if there even is such a thing as a clarinet cheer! anyone got any ideas?

yeah we have a clrinet cheer, its really awsome. Its sweet dreams, yeah that old 80s song. it starts out all of us playing the harmony, then half of us split off and play the melody, while the other half still plays the harmony. Then at the end the seniors do a little end thing which is really cool. We usually play it during fourth quarter or we play it for the other band sometimes. Yeah the trumpets have like four cheers, the saxes have a few... everyone does. Its really fun. And yeah the drums have their own stuff also... If any of you want the notes just post it on here or IM me at CropCircleRadr07 i am usually online. See yall later

We`re playing Sweet Home Alabama, Doobie Brothers[China Grove, Long Train Runnin`, listen to the music], Drum Solo, then Born to be Wild. They`re changing it a bit to include God Bless the USA and shorten Doobie Brothers. We went to a festival instead of a competition but got all 1`s.

well im in florida and my school is playing Spain(dunno who wrote it...i have it memorized and gave it to some1 who lost it) and Birdland(J. Fleming)....they would sound good but out band is horrible...mostly because a magnet school opened a while back and all the good players go there...the rejects usually come to our school...but from what ive heard we are getting better every year(im a freshman) but we still need 22 more points to get a superior at our final compitetion...

We don`t have many single cheers except for the drummers. We all play 2 fast 2 furious but were not supossed to in the stands. The only thing that only one instrument does is not even on their insturment. when were warming up the trumpets take turns going up and down of every other person. well g2g ttyl good look at state everyone
