Vitos are reasonable student instruments - not the best in my opinion but by no means the worst. $80 is a bargain assuming it is in the good condition the seller says. In my experience descriptions in internet ads are usually rather optimistic.

The Vito is a very good beginner instrument. It is well made and can take a little abuse. I use a Vito for my regular daily practice, so that it saves the wear-and-tear and maintenance on my wooden clarinet. I leave it permanently assembled on a stand, something you should not do with a wood horn. With a good mouthpiece the Vito can sound amazingly good.

Many of the students in my class last year bought their instruments on eBay and then brought them to the repair shop and had them overhauled for about 150. They were very happy with their purchases. I, fortunately, had the chance, when on a trip to Manhattan, to spend time in 3 big clarinet stores and play on every clarinet (used) under $1000 before making my choice. It was well worth the trip. In the end I bought a (wood) Noblet. That was the one that sounded like what I wanted to hear and it fitted my hands like a glove!

I play a Leblanc which is similar to Vito. I would recommended the brand.

I own both a Leblanc Vito AND a Noblet Paris. Both are very good instruments. As long as the Vito isn't damaged any, there's no reason why it won't play well for you.
