Downsides on a pro clarinet

I`m thinking about buying a new clarinet, but my parents said that I should buy a professional model clarinet so that I wouldn`t have to upgrade to a better model later. Will it kill me if I get a more "professional" clarinet now? I`ve only played for 2 1/2 years and I`m going to play for another four.

I would say it`s a total waste of money if you`re going to quit. The real good clarinets come in prices about 3000 euros.

Hey hey hey! Sorry about that whole quitting thing! It`s just that I`m going to finish high school in four years and I`m not sure if I`m going to go on, okay?! BTW, does ANYONE have any experience with Amati clarinets?
