Hello, fellow band nerds. To start: I am a die-hard Band Nerd, and no one can ever take that away from me. I love band so much I seriously do not mind marching in 120 degree heat. (It gets that hot here.) Anyway, my 2nd period geography class is basically 15 people that have "no place" in society, then 4 die-hard Band Nerds(including myself) and 5 die-hard "Jocks." All of us Band Nerds go on and on about band, seeing as it is 1st period. All the jocks (notice I now refuse to capitalize the word "jocks.")go on and on about sports. They yell and scream at us Band Nerds to "SHUT UP," yet they go on and on about Texas and Oklahoma and how So-And-So is an awesome quarterback and they can`t believe how So-And-So went to Tech instead of California or whatever. And it gets so annoying because I mean, I can say ONE WORD about band to my friend, and they will jump all over me for it, yet I put up with their non-stop sports broadcast all period, every single day. It`s getting really annoying! I want to just kick them all, but they will come up with some "smart-butt" remark about how Band Nerds are sissies and all they can do is march and how stupid it is that we spend so much time out on the field. I tell them, well if they were out there practicing as much as we were, they might win a game or two. (Our football team seriously sucks.) And this year, we won 5th place in the State Marching Contest--and that`s a huge deal here in the south. And we come back, and all the jocks give us this bull crap about "how come you didn`t get 1st, and you let or rival school beat us? YOU SUCK!!" Our band had the most intricate show by FAR, with the hardest marching and music, and no one can appreciate ANYTHING. Our school is only 4 years old, and this is the biggest thing in the world for us to make it even to state, and then place 5th! Our football team lost all but like 2 games, and they`re all yelling at us telling us how much we suck. AHHH IT`S A NEVER-ENDING BATTLE! Post your stupid "jock" stories here.

Sorry this is so long and stupid, I`m just MAD!

I used to go to a football powerhouse school. Just reply back to them that they can talk about it all they want. Chances of them making Division 1 is pretty much not going to happen. However, my football powerhouse school was college. I worked in the athletic dorm. How many of my friends are playing pro ball? Maybe one out of 10. And these guys were some of the best players in the country when they were recruited to my college. Hmm...kind of sounds like the odds for musicians...
