yo i love bass iev been playing 4 1 and a half years now and i still love it

You guys please, please, stop the biickering, I have tried the bass before, and I happen to not like it that was my choice, and opinion, we all have our different opinions on things, if i was a different person i might like the bass, but thats just my opinion......

EXCUSE ME I WAS FIRST CLARINET AND I LOVED THE BASSCLARINET YOU CANT EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING ON TO THIS FORUM IF YOU HAVE THAT ATTITUDE .AND HOW DARE YOU TRASH THE BASSCLARINETS ..did you know that you can get a schollarship to a collrge is you are good a the bassclarinet..thats what a thought dont you ever think aboy saying that about the bass...and waht is your problem

Whoever said bass clarinetists are the "banished ones" you`re crazy! I play bass in my advanced band and it is actually considered an HONOR to play bass. ALl the Bb clarinets follow your example all the time. Bass is just totally beautiful sounding and looking.

Just advice for anyone who is new playing the bass clarinet:
First, bass takes alot more air and stomach pressure than Bb. To get the higher register notes, it moght help to tighten your stomach more when you play. ALso, for a good tone try to open your throat more and I recommend a size 2 or 2 1/2 Vandorian reed.

Bassclarinet is an honor to play in honor band i play the bass and i thing it is way to simple to play a regular clarinet and is anything you probably..who cares if i spell this wrong..are not able to play it in that case you are not worth it of playing the almighty bass

I am in a symphonic Band and have to play the Alto Clarinet, the girl i sit next to plays bass and finds it very difficult to play, she cnt play any of the top register, some people rn`t rite 4 playin it thats all. I was dissapointed that i couldnt play my Bflat clarinet, but i got used to it and its ok now the music is much easier but u r on ure own most of the time which is annoyin aspecially if u lose ure place.
Neways if ure in a symphonic band surely that means ure good no matter wot ure playin, rite..?

in my band the bass clarinets were really the "banished ones", they can`t even play quarter notes properly!! (btw we`re not a bad band, just our bass clarinets suck, we play songs like first suite in eb). no offense to bass clarinets or anything, but it does hold some truth, although in many cases it doesn`t apply

Hey, bass clarinet rocks. And yes, I played it from the start, I didn`t get "banished" to play it. Four of the clarinets switched over and said it was harder.
And by the way, me and another bass clarinetist happen to be first and second chair.
