i think everyone has the right to express their opinions; this is why this is called a forum
if this makes you uncomfortable, you`re very welcome to leave and never come back again

my opinion of the bass clarinet? it`s a hard instrument, really harder than the normal soprano clarinet but with less competion, NO OFFESNSE; i played it for a week or so, and i simply didn`t like it

first chair players are often NOT the best players, it really depends if they know how to worm their way with the band director, really

In the UK, we don`t have "chairs", we have "desks". So it runs 1st desk, 2nd desk, etc.
One of life`s little differences.

I PLay the Bass Clariney and have been playing it for allmost 2 years it was hard at first but you get the hang of it in a little while.I made the Symphonic bacn in the middle school my first year playing the Bass Clarinet. and I am going into the ninth grade and I made Wind Symphony, and am switching to Contra Bass Clarinet for the symphony. I LOVE my bass Clarinet and would never stop playing it in a million years so stop all the carp about how everyone plays the bass clarinet I love it

ive been playing bass since sixth grade. im a senior now, and im in symphonic band at my high school. i get told by our band director to not play as loud because i play louder than our whole clarinet section(which is 20 clarinets). i love playing my instrument and just bashing it down makes me feel like the person who began this topic is not a very good bass clarinetist. so yea im done

I agree it the same exact thing as a clarinet so I dont understand why people are putting it down.Ive been playing since the 7th grade and i am a senior to.Its just a great instrument. I have a question for all the bass clarinet players...are you the only one playing that instrument in your band?
Im in a small band so im the only player. i was just curious. thanks
