My opinion on those reeds...

I, personally (though others thought differently) think that just in strength, a V12 is stronger than a traditional. However, since a V12 is of higher quality, it`s a lot nicer to blow through. So in a sense, a V12 is easier.
That`s my opinion.

Your hobbies are, of course, as personal as your music.... I certainly wouldn`t have any idea at all what would suit you but here`s what I do...
I study computer related stuff... software, languages, things you can do. Like I`m getting into making my own movies (complete with my own sounds.. see?) and that involves Soundforge, VirtualDub, TmpgEnc for instance that I have to become familiar with.
And I`ve got web sites and am trying to get a grip on Java, Perl, Python for use there.
And I like growing things in my garden - paw paws, mango trees, green peppers, bananas and like that are my favourites.
And I like walking in the remote places of the country.
And horses.
And my little baby son.
And reading.
And what seems to be going on in the world... as best I can make out...
And keeping up with my friends...
get the idea?

Yeah, everyone has their own unique individual hobbies... Oh well, I`ll find some non- music related hobbies someday...

Ok- i found these posts ammusing. Firstly i would like to say clarinet is a great instrument however some of practise scheduling is abnormal. Im also 14 and i have no ida what u want to be. Clarinet is an uplifting instrament and i want to play for leasuire in my adulthood and maybe play for a non- professional ochestra. At this time in the australian gardes im grade 5. Although im still on my first calrinet- the good old buffet B12 with the vandura b45 mouth piece.
Im think about doing the alto sax as well- what do u guys think.
I hope all of u muso have fun! I practise 30-1hr a day. although sometimes more, although often less. I am currently running for at least 1hr a day. So that causes me to practise less. I swim every 2nd day, go for long bike rides, do other sport and go well at school. If i had time i would play more but i dont.
Also for a wooden clarinet how much do they cost and which brand should i get. $US or $Aus please..
Thanks
Luv from Missy

My clarinet goes by the name of Gus. I have a friend who named her plastic marching clarinet Jhon (as in the toliet) and her wooden clarinet Odis Spunkmyer Jr. You are not crazy, at least your clarinet only has a first name.
