this has prob noting to do with post but i wanna know if, i also play piano(grade 5, 3 years playing) and i wanna know if its possible to learn Guitar without lessons? i feel lessons put a bit too much pressure that i don`t need(i also wanna go at my own pace).

Is guitar alot harder than piano? should i just wait till i finish piano then play guitar? Im planning to play the acoustic.

rachel, the person who put up the link to the fingering chart and other things, is awesome, that`s a great place to go if you`re trying to either remember or learn how to play. i played for two years and now two years later am trying to restart, so thanks to rachel.

Okay, first of all
If you`re going to teach yourself you`ll need a really good method book and whole heck of alot of practice
Secondly, you need to know that you might not sound so great one day and extra extra good another day so don`t give up! (Believe me, my clarinet is being extra retarded these days it`s all because one of my corks swelled... hm...)
OH! Yeah! Make sure you know how to take care of your instrument! I learned that the hard way
You don`t even wanna know

my advise is:
first get a clarinet
practice with the mouthpeice and barrel(that is how i started) when you can get sound out of that add the rest of the peices
then go for one note at a time i reccomend g it will also be helpful to pratice in front of a mirror to make sure that you are covering the holes propley if you would like more help email me on unicorn@whitemajic.com

You probably could teach yourself. Clarinet is pretty easy. My teacher didn`t really teach me much. Another girl helped me a little bit, but I pretty much taught myself the fingurings. I`m still teaching myself the higher notes. I can play up to high E above the staff now. (well thats the highest I really need to play so far)

Clarinet`s probably one of the easiest instruments so I say go for it.

I dont think its that easy. Alot of people dont really have a great tone. Tone is pretty difficult and depends on your bottom lip, which are different shapes on everyone.

Hi! The Clarinet is one of my favorite instruments to play. How I got started was I stopped playing the violin in the 3rd grade. Then, I went to my dad (my dad is a school teacher-Band) and asked him what instrument I could play. He said "Why don`t you play the Clarinet?" I said okay and it was fun. My experiance for the clarinet is pretty good since I am a 9th grader at a very good school. This school is known throughout the entire nation. I can go up 3 octaves all the way up to high high high g. SO, try playing the clarinet in band. I pretty much taught myself how to play it.
