Buffet RC Bb
Vandoren 5RV lyre mouthpiece
Buffet Lig
Vandoren no.3 reeds

When I bought my RC a few months ago, there were a couple of Rico Grand Concert reeds thrown in, a 3 and 3 1/2. A they were freebies, I gave them a try and liked the 3. I am considering buying a box next time I need reeds.

Christine, how do you find the Peter Eaton clarinets to play? I was looking into them when I was in the market for a new clarinet but didn`t know anyone who actually played one so couldn`t get an honest opinion.

Personally I love them, but it`s very much a question of what suits you. I chose the Elite model because it has a wider bore (with the original design based on a wide bore version of the the Boosey & Hawkes 1010 - no longer made), is handmade (with great attention to detail and quality) and because they are made in England - like me!. Peter also does an international model which has a smaller bore size more like the Buffet/Yamaha/Selmer brands. The only real way to tell if these clarinets are what you`re after is to try some out and compare them to other brands.

For Marching Band:
Vito Plastic Bb (bought new) (number of overhauls: 1)

For all other playing (ie chamber winds, concert, solos, etc)
I play on a
Buffet-Crampon R13 Clarinet
(bought new)
(manufactured in late 90`s)

For both of them i use the same mouthpiece, ligature, and reeds.

Vandoren B40 (yes just plain old B40)
Rovner Clarinet LIgature (custom grade)
Vandoren 56 Rue Lepic # 3 reeds, but before they came out i used V12 #3`s

I also have recently acquired a new Noblet 45 Eb Clarinet, to start out on Eb with. Anyone got some suggestion for Eb Clarinet mouthpieces and ligatureS?

Wow you guys all play really nice clarinets, I am a Clarinet player for my Wind Ensemble, but I play my Piccolo for Marching.
My clarinet is a Buffet E-12 I find it to be very full in tone and intonation and I did try an R-13 but it was just as good as the E-12 so I decided to go with the E-12(also b/c it was cheaper)I do have a crystal mouthpiece which is made by Vandoren I believe, but Im not sure, I bought it online.

when u bought it online-was it new or used?-
(ps dont buy stuff online unless its from a respectable name such as Woodwind and Brasswind (wwbw.com or music123.com)
And im pretty darn sure Vandoren has never made a crystal mouthpiece-but i might be wrong.

Anybody know of a good Eb mouthpiece and ligature?

I`ve tried several mouthpieces (vandoren, yamaha & noblet) and ligatures (rovner, eddie daniels and bg) on my Eb Clarinet and have not found a better combination than the vandoren B44 mouthpiece and BG revelation ligature. This combination certainly suits me on my Buffet but I can`t say whether it will suit you. It will depend on your clarinet and style of playing, however I don`t think you will be disappointed with the response of the B44.
Hope this helps.
