Does anybody know of any good pieces for solo clarinet accompanied by a wind band? I know of a few arrangements from clarinet concertos originally for orchestra, and any suggestions of these would be welcome too, but does anybody know of anything written originally for Bb clarinet with wind band? The style doesn`t matter either - classical or jazz will be equally good. All suggestions welcome please!

This year i am playing Concerto for Band by Leonard Duarte..it`s a concerto for each instrument...i dont know if that helps or not, but it`s a very difficult peice not only for clarinet but for the rest of the ensemble

There is Frank Bencriscutto`s concertino for clarinet and band. Very neat piece! If you ever get the chance to play it you definitly should.

Martin Ellerby`s Clarinet Concerto

Corny to me in places, but overall suiting for wind ensemble accompaniment in my opinion. Should be a "crowd pleaser" if your audience is going to a wind ensemble concert basically.

Clarinet On the Town. I can`t rememeber who wrote it ir published it, but quite fun. Stylistically light & slightly jazzy, but any classical player should be able to get the right feel. Technically fairly challenging depending on how good you are.

I recommend Mozarts Concerto for Clarinet the Adagio its slow but if you have good tone and a good band to back you up it sounds so peaceful and beautiful...I`m not sure if this has a band for a backup I think so but it`s called Variations right off hand I can`t think of the composer I would have to get back to ya on that one

Mozart wrote a few clarinet concertos with wind accompaniment, but that might be a bit too clasical. Besides that I don`t know.
